Group support for early-career professionals

Sharing experiences with peers can help us thrive as we start to navigate the complexities of professional practice

The transition from student, intern or employed clerk to fully fledged practitioner can be stressful.

You are laying the foundations of your professional identity. There is so much knowledge still to absorb at the same time as you are adjusting to the realities of working life.

My years in education have demonstrated that a lot of effective learning occurs between peers. A supportive, facilitated group environment can supercharge this process, as well as build a sense of connection and community that is valuable in itself.

Contact me to find out how to get involved. I can also design a group specifically for your workplace, or through your professional association.

Sessions might be weekly, or fortnightly, with discussion focused on a range of topics such as:

  • Approaching challenging conversations

  • Setting boundaries

  • Managing your own emotions, thoughts and behaviour, including dealing with the internal critic or ‘imposter syndrome’

  • Reflection and mindfulness techniques for self-care

  • Knowing when and how to seek help, and developing effective mentoring relationships

Let me help you find the patterns in all the colour and movement of an emerging professional career.
